Uh oh!
Well... These things happen and I kind of forgot to upload any pictures in the last two days (oops!)
When I saw this sunset, it really looked more like a gorgeous rainbow embracing the entire sky. The problem was, it was dark out. If I put my flash on, it turned it even darker. When I turned my flash off, there was no flash to freeze the frame, so it looked blurred. But... Somehow I think it looks kind of neat. The colour of the sky is overwelming - it sure was a beautiful night!

Where There's One, There's Always More...
I just want to say, I love this image way more than I should. The colours are absolutely gorgeous and it reminds me of summer in so many ways.
This one also has a story. I was in my back yard when I noticed a Trillium and got unbelievably excited, because they are a beautiful sight. I began taking multiple pictures, when my dog ran through the gate and into the forest behind my house. I chased her and she led me to a section of forest where there was no doubt 500 Trilliums, at least. You can see them faded in the background.
This photo was taken last summer before I had my Canon. So it was taken with a Fuijifilm 8MP digital point-and-shoot camera. I did edit it with my trial version of Adobe Lightroom, just to enhance the colour a little.

The Last Kiss
This one has a story. Just imagine... My mother walking into the room as I am walking out the door carrying wine glasses, a necklace, food colouring and a camera. I guess, she had a right to wonder! Surprisingly, she had no problem... so I headed outside and set the glasses up. I did the first few photos of the filled glass standing upward, but it seemed too uniformed and set up. So instead, I decided to knock down the glasses and see where they ended up. I thought it looked kinda neat.
The name of the picture comes from this kiss on the side of the glass, as well as the necklace which appears to have been thrown down in a rush with the glasses.
No photo editing was done to this photo. I will give credit to my sister for the kiss though!

Just a little dark and gloomy
I thought this one looked a little neat. Kinda typical, but interesting. It has a dark feel to it, and the clouds make it feel stormy and sad. But overall, I think it's a nice photo. I espeically like how you're looking up at the trees at an interesting angle. This was taken TODAY! No photo editing! :)
This is to make up for the two days I have missed....
This photo was taken on January 1/2010. I noticed a slit in the trees and decided what a great photo it could make; kind of opening up into the huge forest. I had quite the difficulty focusing on the background rather than what was in front of the camera! No editing was done to this photo.
With this one, I decided to continue the theme with the exact same trees. This time, you'll noticed that the snow is gone and the sky is a little bluer. No editing was done to this photo either. Photo taken Mar 18, 2010
I am thinking I will continue with the trees for each type of season and then in between; I think it turned out nice.
And...
I've already failed putting up a picture a day. It's the March Break, I have been so incredably busy; that's my excuse.
Next up are 3 pictures to make up for my lost days.

You've Gotta Start Somewhere....
So I was trying to come up with some genius way to share my photography online without it looking like some insane Facebook photo album or something crazy like that.
My idea; from now until the day I get to lazy to do so, I will upload ONE photo per day to this blog. I will try to take the photo THAT day... but sometimes it will be from previous days because I liked the photo a little too much.
But before we get started, for those of you who are wondering... Technical details:
Typically, I will say what I used, and if it was edited in the entry..
Camera: Canon XSI SLR Digital Camera
Editing Software: None (Typically, it will be none. I am currently saving for Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom, but for now, I have neither so there will be no editing done to regular photos) That being said, if it is a studio photo, I've used the program FX Home Photokey to edit out the studio backdrop and replace it with a nicer looking on.
Flash: Just the typical camera flash. However, if need be, I will use my large reflective umbrella flash. However, it's HUGE and heavy and I don't particularily enjoy taking it everywhere I go. LOL
Lighting: I prefer natural light, in everything except studio photos. In the studio, I currently use two 800w umbrella lights, and 1 500w (I believe) backdrop lighting, as well as both camera and external flash. In about a month or so, I will begin using 3 1000w softboxes. But I'm holding off ordering them until I'm confident that it fits my budget. Haha!
Any questions? Visit the contact page to find out a variety of ways to contact me: www.baileythompson.ca/contact. Or simply, shoot me an e-mail: contactbaileythompson@gmail.com.
I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting journey... so I suppose, we can get started!
